Silver Drops Jewelry Design was created by Michael Johnson. Michael started crafting metal jewelry in 2001 during his first year at Colorado College. His early work included both traditional and innovative designs.

After graduating in 2005 with a BA in history, Michael decided to explore the world. While working in China and traveling extensively throughout Asia, he was unable to produce new work. However, this time allowed him to explore new styles and observe different artistic skills, from beadwork in Tibet to gold art in Myanmar. Upon returning to his hometown of Chicago in December of 2007, Michael enrolled in metal classes at the Lil Street Art School. In February of 2009, Michael launched his jewelry shop on Etsy, which still handles all of his sales.

Michael is currently pursuing a Master's of Library Science at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Michael enjoys remote international travel, hiking, and writing in addition to metal work.
